Council directed administration to proceed with streamlining employee pay structure, reducing the number of pay ranges and replacing a five-step grid with a market defined median rate. They also confirmed a compensation philosophy that targets the Town of Banff pay range to be in the midpoint of the market comparators (other Alberta municipalities and local public sector organizations).
November 26 Regular Meeting
The Banff Volunteer Centre announced its notice of closure. Executive Director Katherine Topolniski and Board Chair Mark Unaru updated council on the closing effective December 31, 2012. On request, Council accepted the Volunteer Centre videoconferencing and website assets.
Council opted to delay the redevelopment of Cave Avenue to 2014 in light of the feedback received during the most recent engagement. They directed administration to carry out further public consultation on the design, consider a redesign of the project based on the new feedback. Consultation is expected to begin in January 2013, but if a redesign is necessary, it would be too late to prepare detailed design for tendering and a 2013 construction start.
