The Town of Banff Community Art Committee is pleased to invite artists from Alberta and British Columbia to participate in an exciting, high-impact public art exhibition. Proposals are being accepted for a 2D artwork to be digitally produced and installed within Banff townsite. Images of representational artwork in media including painting (traditional and digital), drawing, printmaking, and photography will be accepted for consideration.
The exhibition will involve one artwork printed on weather-resistant vinyl and mounted to a 40 ft. x 32 ft. panel publically located on an exterior north-facing wall of the Mount Royal Hotel (138 Banff Avenue). The exhibition of this work will run for a five year period.
This call is open to all professional emerging, mid-career, or established Canadian artists possessing a demonstrated capacity for working effectively with municipal project teams and adhering to project timelines. Artists from Alberta and British Columbia are encouraged to apply, however, the artwork submitted should demonstrate knowledge of, or connection to, Banff and/or the Bow Valley region.
Proposals must be submitted by 4 p.m. on January 15, 2019.
