Talk about one-stop shopping. The Town is hosting a single, large open house on its major projects and initiatives, to make it convenient for residents and stakeholders to find out about a multitude of services, plans and programs that will impact them over the next 12 months.
Connect 2013 will be held Thursday, March 14, from 3:30 to 8 p.m. in the Concourse at The Fenlands, 100 Norquay Road.
Whether your interest is in Cave Avenue, transportation, land use, green living, recreation or neighbourhood cleanliness, you’ll find something of interest at the open house.
You’ll be able to review and vote on your preferred option for Cave Avenue reconstruction. Four options will be provided, ranging from a minimal rebuild of two driving lanes to the larger scope of rebuilding two driving lanes, with bike lanes and a sidewalk.
You’ll also be able to review the final draft recommendations of the transportation masterplan, which cover parking congestion and shortfall, traffic congestion, local transit, commercial deliveries and biking/pedestrian options.
Discover the complexities of growth management and transferability through interactive exercises, part of the next phases of the Land Use Bylaw review. You’ll also be able to provide feedback on public service lands.
Learn about rebates offered by the Town for shifting to greener technologies at home or in your business and about some of the Town’s more recent green initiatives – including The Fenlands itself, which was recently awarded LEED silver certification.
If you’re new to Banff and under 30, find out about BanffLIFE, the Town’s most successful program for young adults. If you’re a recent immigrant, learn about the myriad of programs offered through Bow Valley Settlement Services. And if you’re a property owner, find out about the Community Standards Bylaw, and whether you and your neighbours are meeting it.
Take a tour of the new banff.ca and create your own account, plus discover the details on the upcoming Open Data and Recreation Masterplan projects.
Refreshments will be available and everyone is welcome.
