The Town of Banff has piloted temporary seating and amenities on Bear Street for the past four summers as a trial for creating a shared street “woonerf” concept.
Banff residents, businesses, organizations and visitors are invited to provide input into the plan to create a permanent shared street that incorporates features and roadway designs that make pedestrians and cyclists as equal users to vehicle drivers.

- Drop-in noon – 5 p.m., Friday, March 1
- Drop-in 9 a.m. – noon, Saturday, March 2
Why:
The Town of Banff is seeking local knowledge and opinions about this important project. Key issues the Town would like feedback on include the number of loading stalls, number of seating/landscape pods, seasonality of elements, street layout and pavement design.
Town Council will consider public input along with information about environmental, economic, social and safety factors in decisions about designs to transform Bear Street into a Shared Street.
