New Year's Eve

Celebrate the New Year in Banff with a big event downtown on Banff Avenue, from Caribou Street to Elk Street. This family-friendly event includes skating with Isabelle La Wonderful at the downtown rink, roasting marshmallows, fire dancers, interpretive Indigenous stories and dance, a fat bike course and music on our main stage, plus rides on the children’s Lil Toot Train. New Year's Eve road closure notice

Banff Avenue between Elk Street and Caribou Street will be closed starting at 12 p.m. (noon) on December 31, reopening on January 1. Visit banff.ca/roadclosure for more details.


The studded bike tire rebate is back!

Give yourself the gift of safety this holiday season.

Get some studded tires for your bike and then apply for a rebate from the Town of Banff! $60 per tire for Banff Access Program members and $40 per tire for non-members. Open to all Banff residents. Details and application form at banff.ca/rebates. All funds were used up last year, so apply soon!

Register your Mountain Madness Relay Race team today 

Mountain Madness Race on Friday, January 24 is a multi-sport relay race made up of teams of five that starts with a downhill ski leg from the top of Mt. Norquay. The race then works its way down to the Bow River via run, ice skate, classic cross-country ski and snowshoe segments. Enter your team by Thursday, January 9.

Christmas tree recycling

December 26 – January 6

Recycle your real Christmas tree at the Beaver Street parking lot next to the Fire Hall, between December 26 and January 6. Don’t leave anything by your neighbourhood recycling or garbage bins. After January 6, trees can be dropped off at the transfer site, 160 Hawk Avenue, during regular business hours.

This program is for all mothers who recently immigrated to Canada or who have been living in Canada alone and are now reunited with their children and/or partner. This four-week program will help you with parenting, family reunification, relationships and any other needs or questions that you have.

This program is for all fathers who recently immigrated to Canada or who have been living in Canada alone but are now reunited with their children and/or partner. This four-week program will help you with budgeting, parenting and any other needs or questions that you have.

Registration is required for both programs. Call 403.762.1144 or email settlement.programmer@banff.ca. Free child care and transportation upon request. Dinner provided.
