Homegrown community art show
Applications are now being accepted for the Homegrown Art Show. All Bow Valley residents can apply regardless of age or skill level. Deadline is February 15 and the opening reception is March 6. Visit banff.ca/homegrown to download an application.
New Indoor Activities
Free and low cost indoor winter activities and community spaces. Drop-in, no registration required. Below are a few of the new activities:
Community Living Room
Casual space with couches and tables where you can enjoy your own company or connect with others. Coffee & tea is always on for 25c. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at 214 Banff Avenue, lower level of the Community Foundation, enter through the back doors.
How-To Nights
Do you want to learn how to make kombucha, tie a fish fly, choose and care for a pet, make your own toothpaste? How-To Nights have different weekly topics. Free unless materials charge. Thursdays, 7 – 8 p.m. presentation, then 8 – 10 p.m. practice or hang out at 214 Banff Avenue, lower level of the Community Foundation enter through the back doors.
Family Social Dance
Saturdays, February 1, 29 & March 28, 6 – 7 p.m. Any age. $2 per family. Move and groove to disco lights and music in a family-friendly atmosphere. Bring your favourite tune to add to the playlist. 101 Bear Street.
Community Social Dance 10+
Saturdays, February 1, 29 & March 28, 7:30 – 9 p.m. Minimum age 10 years. $2 per person. Learn new dances each week from local instructors during the first half hour from 7:30 – 8 p.m., followed by practice time and open dance floor. Salsa, line dancing, hip hop, etc. 101 Bear Street.
