Banff Zero Waste Trailblazer Awards

Seven organizations will be presented the first Zero Waste Trailblazer awards for their efforts to reduce food waste going to landfill from Banff. These hotels, restaurants and service organizations are making huge strides on the trail to reach Banff ’s goal of zero waste going to landfill by 2050.

Love Your Library

Become a member of the Banff Public Library Board. The board oversees the operation of the library and reports annually to council for budget purposes.

Term: 3 years. Meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month at 5 p.m. Learn

Apply for a Community Grant

The Town of Banff’s Community Grants provide support to Banff’s non-profit societies, community organizations, and individuals. See which organizations/projects have been successful in the past and submit your application by March 30. Homegrown Community Art Show Opening Reception

Friday, March 6, 7 – 9 p.m. Town Hall hosts an exhibition of artwork created by residents of the Bow Valley. A wide variety of art is featured, including original paintings, photographs and sculpture, as well as live music and fashion design. banff.ca/homegrown.

Visual Mending

Use Sashiko-based mending techniques to help your favorite clothes come back to life!
Inspired by this ancient technique, we will make beautiful patches and creative designs.
Please bring clothes to mend. Receive a skein of white or blue cotton thread and a special mending needle. $45.

Leather Carving and Tooling

March 11 – April 1 ( 4 weeks)

Learn from a master leather worker! Familiarize yourself with a variety of carving
and stamping tools, practice on some basic projects, and then try your hand at your own
creation. Beginners welcome! No experience necessary. $160

Beginner Wet Felting

Tuesday, March 24
7 – 9 p.m.

Layer pieces of wool together to create a beautiful colourscape of texture and softness. Weave in fabric and bits of wool to complete your textile creation. No experience necessary. $45.
