Call for Help

If you need help, please contact us at help@banff.ca.

This is for anyone who needs assistance. That means isolated seniors, anyone with immigration issues, or people in self-isolation who need groceries/prescriptions. It’s also for anyone who has been laid off and needs help figuring out how to apply for EI. We have staff who are answering emails and can help you.

Email help@banff.ca or if you don’t have email, call 403.762.1251. Visit banff.ca/COVIDhelp for additional resources.

Information to Help Us Help the Community

As a part of the Town of Banff’s emergency response efforts to COVID-19, the Town's Emergency Coordination Centre is conducting a community inventory survey about the status of businesses in town, their needs and opportunities. The survey is gathering information about businesses needs for continued operations, such as cleaning supplies. The Town is compiling an inventory of resources that businesses want to share with others in the community and will facilitate the redistribution of available resources to those in need, as required. We are seeking information about special services businesses are offering to promote to people who need to know, such as food take-out or delivery.

Please complete the survey at bit.ly/ResourceCoordination.

Large Item Pick Up

Schedule an unwanted item pickup by calling 403.762.1240 or fill out the form at pickup.banff.ca. Don’t just dump things by garbage bins. We’re still scheduling pickups of furniture, appliances, etc. This is a free service for residents.

Closures and Cancellations

All playgrounds in the Town of Banff have been closed to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Town Hall, The Fenlands, 101 Bear Street, and the Operations Office Building are closed to the public. Please call 403.762.1200 or 403.762.1240 for assistance.

All Town-organized programs, courses, and events are cancelled, in order to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Meetings

Council meetings have been cancelled during the State of Local Emergency. Council will meet to address the crisis, with the next meeting in late April. Dates will be posted at banff.ca/agendacenter or receive a notice by subscribing to Agendas at banff.ca/notify.

Help Prevent the Spread

Stay home and away from others if sick. Stay home if you don't have to go to your workplace, or if you don't need to collect supplies. For more information on
self-isolation visit Alberta.ca/COVID.

Maintain a distance of 2 metres (6 feet) from those around you.

Wash hands often, using soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

Cover coughs and sneezes with a flexed elbow or a tissue.

Avoid touching your face with unwashed hands.

If you have the symptoms of a fever, dry cough, or difficulty breathing, take the online assesment linked from Alberta.ca/COVID. Don’t go to your doctor or a health facility if you believe you may have COVID-19. Use this online screening tool to determine whether you need to call 8-1-1 to arrange testing.

Be informed with updates at banff.ca/COVID.
