Fire Prevention Week Cooking is the leading cause of home fires and home fire injuries. With more of us working and cooking at home, we need to be extra cautious to prevent house fires. Here are some ways you can serve up safety in the kitchen this fall: • Stay in the kitchen when you are cooking. • Keep a lid nearby when cooking to smother small grease fires. • Keep flammables away from your stove top. • Install smoke alarms in every bedroom and on every level of the home. • Make a home escape plan and make sure everyone in your family knows it by heart. Learn more at FirePreventionWeek.org.
