Keep Active, Safely

Banff.ca/active is your home for all safe physical and social activities during the COVID-19 pandemic. You can find out more about local online classes, library services, resources for families, activities to do outside and more. You can help stop the spread of COVID-19 and continue to enjoy Banff's great outdoors with a few preventative measures. If you're unsure about the rules, make the safest choice.

Follow All Public Health Measures

To help stop the spread of the virus in Alberta, Banff residents please follow all restrictions, be vigilant about keeping at least 2 metres from everyone not in your household, isolate if sick, and wear a mask in public areas. Visit banff.ca/covid#Critical for the latest updates.

Here to Help

Unfortunately, the provincial restrictions will prevent many people in our community from being able to work. No one should face hardship in this difficult time. If you, or someone you know, needs help accessing support programs or services, please contact us at help@banff.ca and review information at banff.ca/COVIDhelp.

Residents who live in shared accommodation and need isolation space, or those in isolation who need help with deliveries, food, or support services, please contact us at help@banff.ca.

Shop Local

For residents who are able, you are encouraged to avoid travelling and shop local from the many excellent restaurant take-out or delivery options and retail stores. If we work together to stop the spread while supporting our neighbours working in Banff, we will keep Banff safe and resilient.

Help Prevent the Spread

Keep a 2-metre/6-foot distance (about the length of a ski pole in your outstretched arm) from everyone not in your household, whether you are inside or outside
No indoor or outdoor social gatherings are permitted in any setting (private homes, public spaces or workplaces). Please do not have visitors to your home.
Stay home if you feel sick – this is the law – you must stay home for 10 days and should arrange testing if you have a COVID symptom
Stay home for 14 days if you are notified that you have been in close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID
Wear a mask in public places – and wear it properly over your nose and chin
Wash or sanitize your hands frequently (note some hand sanitizers are not rated to work when cold)
