Town of Banff Information

Earth Day community cleanup

Join the Town of Banff and Parks Canada for a community cleanup April 18 – 25. We’ll provide you with the necessary tools and an area to clean around your neighbourhood or in the national park. Household food waste collection bins will also be available at the toolkit pick-up and drop-off. Register as an individual or as a group at banff.ca/Events. This cleanup is made possible with a grant from Trans Canada Trail.

Spring drop-in sessions

Drop-in programs are a great way to get active if you can’t commit to a weekly class. Banff residents can go for free by signing up for an annual membership. Sessions offered in April and May include public skating, youth basketball, yoga, and more! Find all available drop-in sessions and more information at banff.ca/DropIn.

Final Aster units available

There are only three, one-bedroom homes left for sale at below-market-prices in The Aster complex that’s being built on Banff Avenue.  These are ground floor, pet-friendly units. See the floor plans and find more details at asterbanff.ca/for-sale.

Dog park closure

The Recreation Grounds dog park is closed to protect against damage to the new sod. The duration of the temporary closure will depend on weather, rate of drying, and re-establishment of ground cover. This short-term measure will help prolong the life of the grass and avoid unnecessary mud baths for our furry friends.

New horse trail construction

Work is has started along Birch Avenue to create a dedicated horse trail, that will run parallel to Cave Avenue, from Sundance Road to Birch Drive. The central section of the trail is planned for construction in the fall. Learn more at banff.ca/RecGroundsRenewal.

St. Julien Road Reconstruction

St. Julien Road between Wolf Street and St. Julien Way is being reconstructed and enhanced this year. The route to Banff Centre and the Tunnel Mountain Trailhead parking lot will be closed this year. For more information, please visit banff.ca/StJulienRoad.
