National Indigenous Peoples Day

The Town of Banff is helping support a day of art, music, and delicious food celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day. Activities will be offered at the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies and west grounds, Banff Avenue Square, and the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. Activities include music, dance and a taste of Indigenous cuisine, storytelling and interactive art, and a film screening and panel discussion. Canada Day
Friday, July 1
Banff is turning the Downtown Pedestrian Zone into an entertainment space for Canada Day. Performers and displays will provide a full-day of activities dispersed in and around downtown, including Banff Avenue, Bear Street, the Whyte Museum grounds, and the high school field. Activities include marching bands, colour guards, a bicycle parade, First Nations culture and performance, live music and a low-noise pyrotechnics show. Plan your day at banff.ca/CanadaDay.
Taste of Cultures
Friday, June 24: St Jean Baptiste Day, Monday, June 27: Multicultural Day
Experience a taste of our diverse cultures in the Bow Valley at the Whyte Museum. Learn about the significance of these holidays, enjoy performances, art workshops and savour bite-size samples of locally created cultural foods representing Indigenous, Francophone, East Indian, Filipino, Japanese and Tibetan cultures.
