Business Environmental Leadership Working Group Recruitment

The Town of Banff is forming a Business Environmental Leadership Working Group to provide input on Banff’s environmental initiatives, such as the plan to eliminate certain single-use items given to consumers at shops and restaurants. The group will also help mobilize other businesses to take action on environmental priorities in Banff. Apply online at banff.ca/EnviroWorkingGroup. Applications close on Sunday, June 26.  
  

Canada Day in Banff

Friday, July 1
Banff is turning the Downtown Pedestrian Zone into an entertainment space for Canada Day. Performers and displays will provide a full-day of activities dispersed in and around downtown. Activities include marching bands, colour guards, a bicycle parade, First Nations culture and performance, live music and a low-noise pyrotechnics show. Plan your day at banff.ca/CanadaDay.

Help steer the Spray Avenue bus-only lane

Give your feedback on a project to remove a parking lane to create a bus-only lane on Spray Avenue, from Bow Falls Avenue to Mountain Avenue. Join the Info Walk about the project Thursday, June 23, at 3 p.m. Learn more and provide your feedback before July 22 at BanffViewpoints.ca/BusLane.

Do you know first aid?

The Town of Banff offers Red Cross Emergency and Standard First Aid certifications that cover the basics such as CPR and injury response and treatment. To find out what courses are being offered in June, visit banff.ca/Active.

Fun Zone open for summer

Visit the Family Fun Zone at The Fenlands and have fun with the whole family, or friends. Kids can enjoy sports, giant Lego, arts and crafts, board games and more. Adult supervision required. Free for residents with a valid membership. Learn more at banff.ca/FamilyFunZone.

3-on-3 basketball tournament

Thursday, August 11

Love basketball and want to compete? Gather your team and join BanffLIFE for an outdoor 3-on-3 basketball tournament. The day-long round robin tournament includes a guarantee of four games, with four teams advancing to the playoffs. Registration is per team. Ages 18 – 30, open to all genders and abilities. Upcoming BanffLIFE Programs

Hike or climb with BanffLIFE this summer. Explore a historic mine site, and gain stunning views of Lake Minnewanka with a guided hike of C Level Cirque on July 28. Try out a Via Ferrata and explore Mt. Stelfox with a safe and guided climb on July 20, August 24 or September 19. Registration is required. Open to all genders and abilities, and for

Taste of Cultures

Friday, June 24: St-Jean-Baptiste Day
Monday, June 27: Multicultural Day

Experience a taste of our diverse cultures in the Bow Valley at the Whyte Museum Grounds. Learn about the significance of these holidays, enjoy performances, art workshops and savour bite-size samples of locally created cultural foods representing Indigenous, Francophone, East Indian, Filipino, Japanese and Tibetan cultures. MountainLIFE Courses

Learn to rock climb or try out a Via Ferrata with MountainLIFE. These programs are for those aged 31 and older. Open to all genders and abilities. Visit banff.ca/MountainLife to find more information.
