New Year's Eve in Banff

New Year's Eve Public Skating

Skate the day, and year, away with indoor public skating on December 31. The Fenlands Banff Recreation Centre is hosting family public skating from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Sticks & Pucks from 12 to 1:30 p.m., and final public skating from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Learn more

Ebike Rebate Survey

The Town of Banff wants to hear your views on the e-bike rebate program and if it should be expanded. Visit BanffViewpoints.ca/Ebike to take the survey. Share your feedback before Saturday, December 31.

Join the Municipal Planning Commission

The Banff Municipal Planning Commission (MPC) reviews and makes decisions on development and subdivision applications and advises Council on amendments to the Land Use Bylaw. Learn more, and submit an application at banff.ca/Committees.

Christmas Tree recycling

Recycle your natural Christmas Tree between December 26 and January 16. Drop it off at the Beaver Street Parking Lot next to the Fire Hall. Please ensure you have removed all ornaments and decorations. To recycle your tree after January 16, drop it off at the Waste Transfer Site, 160 Hawke Avenue.

Community Coffeehouse

The Singing Tree Music Series is back for a night of Jazz and mocktails. Join in the

AHS Screen Test Mobile Mammography Clinic

AHS Screen Test Mobile Mammography Clinic is coming to the Banff Mineral Springs Hospital January 16 – 19. Appointments are required. Call 1-800-667-0604 (toll-free). Screening is recommended for women 45 – 74. Learn more at ScreeningForLife.ca.

SnowDays Festival

Family cross-country skiing and snowshoeing programs

Family cross-country skiing
Saturday, January 28, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Join other local families for a fun afternoon of cross-country skiing with a certified guide. Play in the snow and learn new skills on skis! 

Family snowshoeing adventure
Wednesday, February 15, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Experience snowshoeing through with your family. A local guide will lead you on this adventure. 


Mountain Madness Relay Race

Friday, February 3, 1 – 5 p.m., Register by Thursday, January 19
Team up and take part in this legendary local relay race! With a team of five, the relay starts at the top of Mt. Norquay with a downhill ski, skate at The Fenlands Banff Recreation Centre, and then finish up at the Banff Recreation Grounds for the running, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing segments. Compete for the fastest time, the best costumes, or the wackiest team name. The race runs 1 – 3 p.m., followed by the after party, 3 – 5 p.m. To learn more, and to register your team, visit banff.ca/MountainMadness.
