Join Earth Day clean up
Cleanup on Saturday, April 22, register by April 14
This Earth Day, join the Town of Banff and Parks Canada as we pick up litter in our nerighbourhoods and in the national park. We will provide the necessary tools and coordination of locations cleaned. Join us after the clean up for a community BBQ, Zero Waste information, and Storytime with the Banff Public Library. Household compost bins will also be available at the toolkit pick-up and drop-off. Register yourself, your family or as a community group. Visit banff.ca/Active to register.
Single-Use Items Reduction Bylaw
Council passed the Single-Use Items Reduction Bylaw on February 13. This bylaw aims to reduce the amount of waste generated in our community. The bylaw will be implemented in phases. Visit banff.ca/SingleUse for more information:
By July 1, 2023:
- Customers must request to receive accessory disposable items such as utensils, condiment packs and straws.
- Businesses must accommodate when customers ask for food or drinks to be served in their reusable containers.
By January 1, 2024:
-New disposable plastic shopping bags are banned and there will be minimum fees on paper & reusable bags.
- Businesses are required to provide reusable food ware for dine-in services.
Age-Friendly Banff Survey
Provide feedback on opinions we heard from focus groups about making Banff more age-friendly for seniors: BanffViewpoints.ca/AgeFriendly.
Apply for a Community Grant
The Town of Banff's Community Grants provide support to Banff's non-profit societies, community organizations, and individuals. Apply by May 15, 2023. For details and how to apply, visit banff.ca/Grants.
First Aid Courses
The Town of Banff offers Red Cross Emergency and Standard First Aid certifications that cover the basics such as CPR injury response and treatment. Visit banff.ca/FirstAid to learn more and to register.
Register for the community rummage sale
The Spring Community Rummage Sale is back Sunday, May 7 at The Fenlands Banff Recreation Centre! Register your table for $40 to sell gently used items, such as sporting gear, small kitchen appliances, clothing, books, toys, and more. Discounts for Banff Access Card holders are available.
