Get Ready! Disaster Readiness Day in Banff

Sunday, May 7, 12 –  4 p.m.

Banff Train Station Large Parking Lot

Experience a showcase of all the crews, heavy equipment, trucks and emergency services vehicles that will keep Banff safe during a major emergency. Learn how agencies are prepared to deal with disasters - wildfire, flooding, severe storms, wild animal charge, gunman attack - and more. Families will enjoy demonstrations and access to emergency vehicles, while learning how locals can take steps to be prepared for emergency. To learn more, visit banff.ca/Emergency.

Greenhouse plot lottery

Registration is open for Banff residents seeking a 2023 greenhouse plot with the Banff Greenhouse Gardening Society. Register in the lottery for a chance to secure one of the 82 garden plots in one of the two greenhouses at the Recreation Grounds or the greenhouse at The Fenlands Banff Recreation Centre. Plots are available for a one-year term. The lottery closes on April 27. Learn more, and apply for the lottery at banff.ca/Greenhouses.

Community Policing Meeting

This is an opportunity for Banff residents to speak with members of the local RCMP detachment about community safety, policing priorities, and issues that affect Banff. Everyone welcome. No registration required.

Age-Friendly Banff Survey

Provide feedback on opinions we heard from focus groups about making Banff more age-friendly for seniors: BanffViewpoints.ca/AgeFriendly.

Rent a table at the community rummage sale

The Spring Community Rummage Sale is back Sunday, May 7, at The Fenlands Banff Recreation Centre! Rent a table for $25 to sell your gently used items, such as sporting gear, small kitchen appliances, clothing, books, toys, and more. Discounts for Banff Access Card holders are available. Apply for a Community Grant

The Town of Banff's Community Grants provide support to Banff's non-profit societies, community organizations, and individuals. Apply by May 15, 2023. For details and how to apply, visit banff.ca/Grants.

First Aid Courses

The Town of Banff offers Red Cross Emergency and Standard First Aid certifications that cover the basics such as CPR injury response and treatment. Visit banff.ca/FirstAid to learn more and to register.

Earth Day with the Zero Waste Team

Celebrate Earth Day with us by learning how you can reduce your landfill waste through buying less, and composting and recycling more. Our team will be at the Banff Recreation Grounds with some family-friendly activities. You'll have the chance to see what Banff residents send to landfill, take a picture in the garbage truck, learn about our environmental rebates, ask our team questions and get tools to reduce your waste. BanffLIFE Newcomer Walking Tour

The BanffLIFE Newcomer Walking Tour provides young adult residents, whether permanent or temporary, with everything you need to know to live in Banff. Pawsitive Play

Join the Bow Valley SPCA for advice and tips to prepare you and your dog to enjoy time in the community and at the dog park. Session for humans only!
