Roots of Empathy in Banff

Town of Banff Family and Community Support Services is seeking a volunteer family and their new baby to be part of Roots of Empathy at Banff Elementary School starting in October. Roots of Empathy is a classroom based program that teaches human development, emotional literacy, and nurtures the growth of empathy. Babies and one or both parents will visit the school about once a month for 30 minutes throughout the school year. If your baby will be 2 – 4 months old this October and you would like to find out more, please contact heather.breen@banff.ca or call 403.762.1124.

Tuesday, August 27, 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

This free session is for Permanent Residents of Canada who are interested in becoming 
a Canadian Citizen. Registration is required. Free childcare and transportation available upon request.

Living in Canada as a Permanent Resident Session

Thursday, August 29, 6 – 9 p.m.

This is a free session, hosted at Banff Town Hall, for Permanent Residents or anyone who has already submitted a PR application. Learn about your rights and responsibilities as a Permanent Resident. Find out about no cost English programs, health care in Canada, housing information, career opportunities, and more. Registration is required.

Try Roller Derby

The Lady Macs will be at The Fenlands to teach Roller Derby to anyone ages 6 and up. Learn the basics of the sport from our local roller derby team. Free. Equipment provided. Registration required, banff.ca/register.


Movie Under the Stars

Bow Valley Parent Link Open House

Ice Sports Gear Swap

2 – 5 p.m.
Banff Minor Hockey, Banff Curling Club and Banff Skating Club present the first annual Gear Swap. Stop by and pick up your equipment for this upcoming season of ice sports and enjoy a fundraising BBQ for Kids Sport.
