The Essential Local's Guide to Banff

Grab a copy of the new guide that’s full of fall and winter classes, valuable information on living in Banff, services available to residents and much more. Pick one up at Banff Town Hall, The Fenlands or download a copy at banff.ca/localsguide. Registration is open for all classes & programs. New Drop-in Classes & Sports

Drop-in classes are a great, low-cost way to get active if you can’t commit to a weekly class.  We’ve added Sepak Takraw – or Kick Volleyball and Pickleball this season. Registration is not required. All skill levels welcome. Visit banff.ca/dropin for the full list of classes and sports along with details, times and costs.

Save with Memberships

Drop-in membership cards give you access to all drop-in sports, fitness classes and programs. Purchase them at Town Hall or The Fenlands, and online at banff.ca/register.


Apply For a Committee

Anyone who lives in Banff and is 18 years or older can apply to be a member of Town of Banff committees, boards and commissions. Applications are due on October 4. Pick one up at Town Hall, or complete one online at banff.ca/committees.

Mountain Adventurers

An outdoor program designed for Grades 4 – 5 and 6 – 8 on Canadian Rockies Public School PD half day Fridays from 12 – 4 p.m. Students will go canoeing, mountain biking, rock climbing, cross country skiing and much more. Registration is on a month by month basis and opens on the 15th of each month for the following month’s program. $5 per week. Register in person at Banff Town Hall or call 403.762.1251. Banff Community Social Assessment Presentation

12 – 1:30 p.m.

Digital SLR & Smartphone Photography
Tuesday, September 24

6 – 8 p.m.
Learn how to get quality photos from your Digital SLR and your smartphone. This class will cover the basics and teach you how to use them to their full potential. Opportunities to go outside for some hands-on practice with the instructor will be included during class time. Participants are expected to bring their own DSLR and smartphone. Melissa's Road Race

A favourite among locals, Melissa’s Road Race is a family-friendly, annual running event in Banff. Melissa’s Road Race is suitable for all ages and abilities offering a 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon (21K) race. 2019 is a very special year for Melissa’s Road Race as the event celebrates its 40th anniversary!


Banff Gallery Hop

Saturday, September 28

12 – 5 p.m.
Banff Gallery Hop is a monthly initiative to celebrate arts, culture and heritage in our area. 10 venues will delight and amaze you, and give colourful cultural reasons to venture into Banff’s Art & Culture scene. Our free Art Bus is bright blue and easy to spot, making for easy access to all venues. This event is mostly free, some museum admissions apply. 

Fall Community Rummage Sale

Sell your stuff at the annual Rummage Sale at The Fenlands.
