Town of Banff Information

Get on the Zero Waste Trail

The Town of Banff recently launched the Zero Waste Trail campaign, with the goal of 70% waste reduction by 2028. Get on the trail, and learn how you, or your business can help reach this goal.

At least 65% of Banff’s waste going to landfill comes from the commercial sector, and almost 50% of that waste is food. The Town of Banff is taking big steps to increase the food waste being diverted for composting. But restaurants, hotels and large organizations must step up to reach our community’s goal to eliminate all waste going to landfill by 2050

The program invites Banff businesses to sign up at banffzerowastetrail.ca to receive assistance in cutting food waste.

Pumpkin

Halloween is for Humans, Not Wildlife

Halloween is a time to have fun. Avoid creating a scary situation this Halloween by keeping your pumpkins away from wildlife. Pumpkins attract bears into town which can lead to conflict with people and pets, and that can be deadly – for you, your pet or the bear. Protect wildlife and keep Halloween jack o’ lanterns inside. For more info, visit banff.ca/wildlife.
